Community schools are designed to support the whole child—academically, socially, and emotionally—to help every student succeed in school and in life. In OUSD, our community schools provide a range of on-site services and supports that remove barriers to learning and ensure students have what they need to thrive.

Rep. Mike Levin and USDA Deputy Secretary Xochitl Torres Small recently visited Mission Elementary School to highlight the launch of the new Summer EBT program—an initiative aimed at ensuring low-income students have access to nutritious food when school is out. Oceanside Unified is proud to be part of the conversation around supporting the whole child, year-round.
